PvP rank is species-specific

A rank compares one Pokémon's IV spread with other IV spreads for the same species and league cap. It does not say that the species itself is strong in the current metagame.

Why low Attack can rank higher

Attack contributes more heavily to CP. Under a league cap, a lower Attack IV can sometimes allow additional levels and more total Defense and HP. Master League has no CP cap, so perfect IVs are usually preferred.

Check the form you will battle with

Select the evolved species and form you plan to use, then enter its appraisal IVs. Compare Little Cup at 500 CP, Great League at 1,500 CP, or Ultra League at 2,500 CP. Check the current cup rules before spending resources.

Common questions

Is rank 1 always the best choice?

Not always. Breakpoints, bulkpoints, mirror matches, Best Buddy levels, and limited resources can make another spread more practical.

What is the Little Cup CP limit?

The standard Little Cup limit is 500 CP, although individual cups can add eligibility restrictions.

Is a hundo the best Pokémon for Great League?

Not necessarily. A 15/15/15 Pokémon can reach the CP cap at a lower level than a low-Attack spread. Compare stat product for the same species and league; species that stay below the cap can favor higher IVs.

Does a high IV rank mean I should power it up?

Check its moves, your team, cup eligibility, and Candy and Stardust costs first. IV rank compares stat product within one species; it does not predict wins or rank that species against the rest of the league.
